Lights on the River in Lisbon ready for 9th year

Posted

For eight years businesses, Lights On The River, and local food pantries have been helping thousands of residents of St. Lawrence County. When we first turned on the lights 9 years ago we welcomed 20 businesses and donated those proceeds to one food pantry.

Thanks to the generosity, persistence and compassion of many more businesses, 2017 proved to be a great year. We were able to donate to 15 food pantries, $1,200 each and split over 160 boxes of food each weighing approximately 50 pounds.

These cash donations and food came in from businesses and the many thousands of cars that passed through the gates at Lisbon Beach each night. These monetary and food donations were able to help many thousands more.

Additionally, we are thankful that many organizations and families took the time to set up displays, make financial contributions or both for visitors to enjoy at no cost to them. We believe this is very inexpensive advertising for any business due to the high volume of people passing through the gates.

Even though we were able to help many people, according to our friends and partners at the local food pantries, we have many more that still need assistance. We ask that you look at your budget and include or continue to include Lights On The River as part of your business plan. This can be in the form of a donation, display or both.

Not only does this donation and/or display help feed and support the many thousands that are less fortunate, it is truly a great way to advertise your business to those that may not need the support but also may not know your business exists.

We, at Lights On The River, truly appreciate your continued partnership in this worthwhile event. With your display and/or financial support this will continue to grow and help foster community giving while providing evenings of beautiful lights for all to enjoy during the Holiday Season.

Please go to http://lightsontheriver.org/2018-sponsorshipdisplay-pledge-card/ for donation and display information. This will be our 9th year lighting up Lisbon Beach and hope that you and your business will be able to join us.
