Lights on the River in Lisbon begins fundraising

To the Editor:

“It’s beginning to look a lot like…” well spring, which means the Lights on the River committee is starting to plan this year’s event.

In the meantime raffle tickets are available for a greenhouse donated by Lowes in Ogdensburg. Tickets can be purchased from Lights on the River members and volunteers now through May 6.

If interested in buying tickets, Lights on the River members will be sitting by the entrance of Walmart in Ogdensburg on Fridays and Saturdays over the next few weeks (weather permitting). The greenhouse is 8 ft. by10 ft. and can be seen at Lisbon Beach. The greenhouse can be delivered for free to residences of St. Lawrence County.

As the Lights on the River committee is preparing for this years event, we are also currently seeking volunteers to help us periodically throughout the year with fundraising and/or during the big event in December. Volunteers are always needed before the event with setup, during the event with greeting, and after the event with teardown and cleanup. Our 2017 event begins on Friday December 15th and will run through December 23. School nights of the event will run 5 to 8 p.m. and the non-school nights will run 5 to 9 p.m.

We are asking anyone who is willing to help during the year, during the event, or has any questions to please contact Lights on the River through Facebook, jon@lightsontheriver.org, or call/text Jon at 315-244-2019.

Those who are current volunteers or have volunteered in the past and would like to become an Executive Committee Member are asked to submit a resume to a committee member for review.
