Less Second Amendment regulation is the answer, says Morristown resident

In response to the Sound Off “Hate Crimes Demand Law” which appeared in the June 18-24 issue of North Country This Week: if you wish to give your opinion put your name on it otherwise it’s not your opinion. The writer doesn’t appreciate the 4th Amendment.

The law he wants eliminates due process. To this I give you a quote from Benjamin Franklin “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety”. The writer has failed to state what is known as facts.

This was not a “hate crime” it was an ideological attack on our freedom and liberty. It was an attack carried out by an Islamic terrorist. Okay, let’s try this together.

Let’s all say, in unison, radical Islamic terrorism. Political correctness is killing us. Unless we call the enemy what it is we cannot prepare to put an end to it. The shooter was not in custody, he was questioned twice, the FBI released him and closed the case in both instances. A gun store reported his suspicious activities to the FBI just prior to the shooting. It was a systemic failure by the bureau that allowed his legal gun purchase.

Why was the killer not flagged by the bureau? Democrats have said new laws would not have prevented this attack or San Bernardino, or Fort Hood the list is long. Every single mass shooting has one thing in common, “gun safe zones.”

For a terrorist or mass murderer, this is what they look for. They want to shoot fish in a barrel. Fish that cannot return fire. Our government and the anti-Second Amendment regulations have created this killing field. More laws will simply make it easier for these radicals that wish for the demise of our free society. More laws that make law-abiding citizens criminals only leave the criminals with guns.

Second Amendment over-regulation is the problem. Less Second Amendment regulation is the answer. American’s must fight to keep and preserve our rights our elected government wishes to take from us. The Second Amendment fight isn’t really about gun’s it is about maintaining freedom and liberty and keeping tyranny and oppression our government wishes to cast upon us at bay.

The best way to preserve freedom and liberty is to elect those that want the same. All others must be removed. We can start with the House Democrat sit in crowd and move on to the rest of the politically correct republicans and democrats that have signed on to more unwarranted gun laws. Flushing of the system begins in November!

“We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his/her actions,” President Ronald Reagan
