RENSSELAER FALLS -- The program “Trees And Shrubs – Autumn Changes” will be held at the Indian Creek Nature Center, Oct. 7, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Participants will explore the lore and the science of why leaves change color when summer wanes and winter approaches and why some trees drop their leaves while others retain them.
Those attending will discover what determines the type and degree of coloration on a particular tree in a given year and how such things as weather conditions, sunlight and shade, and rainfall all play a part in the process.
