To the Editor:
In response to the article "Surveillance At The Greenbelt" which ran in the July 25 issue of North Country This Week: I would like to commend those who are working for the cameras along the Greenbelt and other areas.
I appreciate it when I see my old hometown making such sensible moves even though it has to be for such and expensive, nuisance problem.
We still watch the sunsets there every now and again and we have seen the despicable young people carelessly throwing all matter of things on the ground and even over the dock, into the water. And when I say young I don't necessarily stop at teenagers or younger but also fully-grown adults who open a car window and toss stuff on the ground all around their car.
The cameras in my opinion are also going to help with other things. Security is one of them, along with some for the people that visit there. Bored and troublesome youngsters also hang out there this year for some reason and twice have made us nervous enough to leave.
Ideally I would think the cameras should be HD, color, and with infrared capabilities for use in the dark.
Kudos for the effort: I wish all success.
