The Kiwanis Club of Gouverneur, Inc. will be holding its annual auction on April 28, at the Gouverneur Elks Lodge, 1415 US Highway 11, Gouverneur. The auction will start at 7 p.m. The Elks Lodge will be hosting their weekly Friday night prime rib dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. for those who wish to have dinner before the auction. There is no charge for admission to the auction and items can be previewed during the dinner.
Local businesses and individuals have donated dozens of items and gift certificates to be auctioned off for the benefit of the many projects supported by the Kiwanis Club. All of the proceeds of the auction go to our projects. Items included in this year's auction include: a very nice guitar, tools, gardening items, maple syrup, a hand-made quilt and many gift certificates from local businesses. A dinner and hotel package for the Fairfield Inn & Texas Roadhouse in Watertown will also be raffled at the auction.
The Kiwanis Club of Gouverneur, Inc. contributes to many local, state, national and international projects. We provide funds to assist our high school Key Club and our elementary K-Kids club. We fund and run the Kiwanis Wildcat Backpack Program.
We organize the annual cemetary clean up (scheduled this year for May 6 at 9 a.m. We provide $1,500 in scholarships to a Key Club senior and a high school senior at graduation. We contribute to many other local sports teams, charities and fundraisers and have committed funds to Kiwanis International's commitment to end neo-natal tetanus world-wide. Without the funds raised at this auction, none of these donations would be possible.
The Kiwanis Club of Gouverneur, Inc. is a registered charity and 501-(c)(3) non-profit organization. Receipts for items purchased or donations to our general funds or backpack program are available.
