Keep pressure on Cuomo to provide school aid

To the Editor:

In regard to the recent Potsdam-Canton Merger Vote: This is an open letter, not only in regard to the recently and overwhelmingly defeated proposal to merge Potsdam and Canton schools districts, but a reality check, and a call to action from everyone effected by Governor Andrew Cuomo’s relentless attacks on the New York State Public Schools.

Let’s get to the root of the Andrew Cuomo initiated financial problems for all of our public schools. It is Andrew Cuomo, Dean Skelos, Sheldon Silver and the polls, with an emphasis on Andrew Cuomo, vote him out, and if he wins, keep up the pressure on him, and go national.

That means more people have to become proactive in getting the financial aid our public school children and grandchildren desperately need. Do not accept the status quo and go along to get along with our current governor.
