To the Editor:

The Hermon-DeKalb Central PTA would like to offer our sincere appreciation to the students, families, teachers, school staff, and members of the community, who made our 2010-2011 school year a great success.

With a special thank you to Margaret Dox for taking photos and DJ Jamie Anson for providing music at the Father/Daughter Dance; Charlie Burt for reading to the kids as Cat in the Hat, being our Santa Claus, and officiating the Mother/Son Basketball game; Clay Denesha for officiating the Mother/Son basketball game; Amber and Nick Ormasen for donating 100 bags of cotton candy to the end of the year movie night; and to Rachel Matejik and Holly O’Brien for the Zumba fundraiser.

We would also like to thank the many area businesses for their generous donations throughout the year. It is together we can do great things for the children.

We couldn’t have done it without all of you.

The first PTA meeting of the 2011-2012 school year is on Sept. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the HDCS Library.

The PTA is a non-profit volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, and community members dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for all children. Please join us. It is a great way to become involved in the school community.

Any amount of time and service you can offer is appreciated. A little help can go a long way!

We are looking forward to another successful year.
