To the Editor:
The CPS production of Hairspray was as close to Broadway-level performance as I’ve ever seen in regional theatre (and I’ve seen a lot).
The cast was terrific, the opening night performance was flawless, the pit chorus was great, the pit was great, the tech and scenery were beautifully done, and the dancers in the chorus were crisp and skilled.
The direction was well paced and perfectly executed. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I loved all the leads. They delivered characters that were vocally excellent, personally likeable, energized, and just plain fun to watch.
A great production and I can’t wait to see Little Shop.
