To the Editor:

I read with interest “Mass Killings No Excuse to Deprive Home Defense,” which appeared in the Jan. 27-Feb. 2 issue of North Country This Week.

I call this the TABOOL program. TABOOL is an acronym meaning “Take Another Bite Out Of Liberty.” Remember McGruff the Crime Dog who said “take a bite out of crime?”

The Ku Klux Klan was the first anti-Liberty group to push through the first gun grabber laws in this country. These laws were designed to make KKK nightriders safe as they killed and maimed freedmen after the Civil War. The KKK’s political descendants today are motivated in a similar fashion. Today’s corrupt politicians feel threatened by armed honest people. Therefore the cry, “A shooting has occurred. Let’s punish those who didn’t do it! Grab their guns!”

The first job of any criminal enterprise is self-protection. The same goes for a government that is becoming a criminal enterprise. Therefore corrupt politicians strive to disarm the people. Those who approve of this action are aiding and abetting that corruption. As you applaud this corruption know that from some corner of Hell an ancient KKK grand dragon is smiling and applauding you.

Stick with the NRA and other members of the Liberty Lobby in defending your rights.
