To the Editor:
As graduation season comes to a close, I’d like to point out that both the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Edwards-Knox high school class of 2016 are graduates of St. Mary’s School in Canton.
One of the top ten students in Canton’s class of 2016 was also among the 11 graduates of St. Mary’s back in 2010.
Last year, three of Canton’s top ten and one of the co-valedictorians at Potsdam High School were graduates of St. Mary’s. Once again, St. Mary’s talented, hard-working staff has helped students from around the area succeed at school and at life.
I recently attended the graduation ceremony for the 6th grade class at St. Mary’s. As I watched the seven members of the Class of 2016, I realized that in that small group there was probably a valedictorian and a number of other high-achieving students.
I encourage parents of young children to consider St. Mary’s to start their students on a strong academic career.
