To the Editor:
In school and in politics, midterms matter.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, North County voters will choose local, statewide and congressional representatives.
These elections are as, or more, important than those for President of the United States.
As we have seen, Congress can help or hinder, and once again, our district, and your vote, are crucial.
The county, town and village races directly impact your daily life. But you can’t vote if you’re not registered. If you’ve moved, changed names, or missed some elections, you need to re-register. Forms are available at town and village clerks’ offices, listed in the phonebook government section; call for hours.
There are also forms at SUNY Potsdam and Canton, Clarkson and St. Lawrence Universities.
Mail-in forms must be postmarked by Oct. 10. Register in person at the Board of Elections – now located at the Human Services Building Route 310 in Canton, Monday-Friday, 9-5, 379-2202
