To the Editor:
The Potsdam Hospital Guild is comprised of a group of volunteers raising needed funds and completing service projects for the Canton Potsdam Hospital. The Guild fundraisers are successful due to the continued support of our community.
In August our third annual garage sale was held at Pine Street Arena. We would like to thank both Tim Carey and Derek Green for being so gracious and helping us with the organization of our sale. We greatly appreciated the generous donations made by the community and by businesses: Casella, PACES at SUNY Potsdam, Clarkson University, Frank Gonyea, IGA, Price Chopper, Sugar Shack Bakery and Cafe and Scoopuccino’s.
This year we initiated a pie sale, which was a sellout. We thank the many community members who prepared the delicious pies and delivered them to the arena.
At our Annual Meeting in June the Hospital Guild presented the Canton Potsdam Hospital with our second installment on a five-year $75,000 pledge to the Foundation. Currently the Guild is funding the addition of a Hospice Suite at the hospital as well as supporting other hospital initiatives.
Planning has begun for our next two fundraisers a second Trivia Night and a Clarkson Hockey fundraiser. New members and volunteers of the Potsdam Hospital Guild are always welcome.
