To the Editor:
On June 3, students and parents from the Norwood-Norfolk Elementary School participated in the first “End of the Year Celebration.” This event included a variety of games, arts and crafts, a treat walk, face painting, silent auction, and a gently-used books and DVD sale.
Many teachers and staff supported this effort and contributed to its success. Our sincere appreciation goes to the families, friends and school groups (student council and Key Club) who showed their support by participating and planning for this event. Several families donated tasty treats for the treat walk, which the children truly enjoyed.
A big “Thank You” is extended to the many local businesses who donated many items to the silent auction. The profit from the celebration was used to purchase playground supplies and equipment.
On behalf of the students and faculty, we are grateful to everyone who made this event a fun-filled evening for the school community. We are looking forward to holding the celebration as an annual event at the Norwood-Norfolk Elementary School.
