In response to “Shootings, Drugs, Laws Boil Down to Freedom” which appeared in the Jan. 13-19 issue of North Country This Week: I read your post with interest and I believe you are concerned about the issues you bring up, but you are hedging every step of the way.

The Mass Shootings is an area I'm quite interested in. I did Google those numbers and more as you suggested but never came across any relevant hits. Any chance you could offer citations on the numbers you used? Kindly consider this a request for details.

As for the Border Patrol dogs, such information is indeed available, from government and oversight information already on the internet. There is no way I can see anyone's 4th amendment rights abrogated by mistake. Can you clarify that a bit? Would you rather have a few false alarms as opposed to stopping a bomb that could level several city blocks or more? What is your actual point?

The Border Patrol does not work for us! They are policing units who are there to protect us.

In essence, you seem to want owning a gun to be unconditional and you want to carry illicit items across the border with Canada and Mexico. Or did I miss something?
