To the Editor:
Usually when the leadership for an event changes, a bit of anxiety and worry becomes a concern especially if the event has been successful. This was the case when I decided to step down as Norwood July 4 parade chairman.
I heard concerns such as: “The parade would not be the same.” “Norwood is going to lose its parade.”
I feel the parade this year in Norwood erased these concerns.
The new parade committee of Norwood Vol. Fire Dept. members did a good job organizing the parade. I hope that this committee continues for many years to come. I hope that they learn from their mistakes and look for ways to improve the parade each year, not only for the enjoyment of the parade viewers but also for the parade participants.
To these new July 4 parade organizers: Congratulations. Job well done.
The torch has been passed.
