To the Editor:
It was terrific to read Canton Village Board candidate Dwight Stevenson's message: "Believe In Main Street" and his "Yes We CANton" commitment, which he has been emphasizing in his door-to-door campaign.
Dwight is a very worthy prospective Canton Village Trustee to take the New England-departed and much-missed Dan McDonnell's seat on the Board.
Canton, with its beautiful central village green, 3-tiered fountain, and historic Governor/Senator Silas Wright House gives an assuring community welcome to young and old. And it is laudable that Dwight Stevenson, a Heuvelton school teacher, chose Canton as a community where he wanted to live and where he decided to buy a home in the village.
Not only does Dwight support local business and environmentally conscious development, but he also will be a community leader and will follow up by providing the commitment, the hard work and the leadership results to to make Canton even better.
The real "grassroots" government in our Democracy, which is closest to we the people, through our very effective Canton Village Board and our excellent staff, deserves the best, which we find in Dwight Stevenson, who welcomes your line "A" vote or your Independent "Believe in Main Street" line "G" vote on Tuesday, November 4.
Dwight Stevenson gets my vote.
