To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Kevin Felt for St. Lawrence County Treasurer. I first met Kevin in late spring through a family member. When I learned that Kevin worked in the treasurer’s office, I proceeded to tell him about a problem that I had had many years ago with this office. He listened patiently and never tried to dismiss the problem. I was very impressed.
As I got to know Kevin, I found out that patience is but one of his many fine qualities. Kevin is intelligent, articulate, friendly, and above all shows a level of integrity not often found in society today, let alone in a person running for political office. Kevin also has a work ethic that is unparalleled. While managing a busy campaign schedule, he still maintained the high standards that he has set for himself as deputy county treasurer. He has worked nights and weekends to make sure that things are running smoothly.
After graduating from Heuvelton Central, Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree in business management at SUNY Plattsburgh and a master’s degree in business administration at Clarkson University. He has worked for several private companies both in the North Country and around the state. For the last two years, Kevin has been the deputy county treasurer. His education and experience make him an ideal candidate for the job.
In a time where many young people leave the North Country, it is refreshing to find someone who wants to call this place home. With his education, Kevin could have worked anywhere, and probably for a lot more money. But Northern New York is home and he is dedicated to serving the people of St. Lawrence County.
I urge you to vote for Republican Kevin Felt for St. Lawrence County Treasurer on Primary Day, Sept. 14.
