To the Editor:
To our family, friends, and the entire Nicholville community and beyond, we don't know where to begin. We will never be able to thank you enough for everything you did and continue to do, but please know that your acts of kindness have not gone unnoticed.
As many of you know, we lost our home, our belongings and four of our precious dogs in a recent massive fire. Although we are exceptionally thankful our whole human family is safe, we still struggle to live without our fur babies.
We must first thank all the first responders who came to our home to battle our real life nightmare. To the firefighters and rescue of Nicholville and surrounding areas, we cannot thank you enough for trying to save our home and dogs. To our neighbors who offered food, water, and any supplies we needed, thank you for all your support.
To our family and close friends, thank you for trying to console us in our time of horror. To my coworkers and boss, thank you for selflessly putting your lives on hold to round up anything and everything you could to make sure we had a fully furnished home to rest our heads in. To local businesses that donated clothing and supplies along with everyone that dropped off, mailed, and hand delivered donations, our hearts are overwhelmed from your generosity.
Although we have a long road ahead of us and July 6, will be a date that will always hold a negative connotation, I am confident that everyone’s incredible acts of kindness will be a much more vivid memory in years to come. I am sorry for those people that have not received a personal thank you from us, but please know that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are truly humbled for everything that has been done for us.
Thank you and we could not ask for a better community.
