To the Editor:

It is an exciting time for the Seaway Career & Technical Education Center as we enter into the 2011-12 enrollment season.  We currently serve approximately 400 students from Canton, Colton-Pierrepont, Madrid-Waddington, Massena, Norwood-Norfolk, Parishville-Hopkinton, Potsdam, and St. Lawrence Central schools.

Students completing the programs earn a two-year Career and Technical Education Certificate of Employability as well as regents math and science credits.  We serve students on tract for Advance Regents Diplomas, Regents Diplomas, Local Diplomas, or General Equivalency Diplomas all of whom are college bound, joining the military or entering the workforce after graduation.

Articulation agreements exist with numerous colleges along with a dual enrollment program with North Country Community College.

The following is a list of programs that will be offered next year: Allied Health (1 year), Auto Technology, Building Trades, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Environmental Technology, Health Careers, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration, Computers and Business, Metalworking, and Engineering.

Interested high school students may contact their guidance counselors for more information or by visiting www.sllboces.org.
