To the Editor:
In response to “E-Cigarettes Pose Health Risks; Targeting Youth,” I am a little upset to know that this article was based on “kids.”
As the owner of Main Street E-CIG, division of Main Street Chocolates in Norwood, we do not sell to anyone under the age of18 because of nicotine. Right now it is the “wild west” but regulations are coming into play.
Our vapor is made of 100 percent organic Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin (50/50) and all natural flavors. Aside from the addictive factor of nicotine, it is not bad for you at all.
Nicotine is used to quit smoking by lowering the doses, most of my customers use 12mg, which is less then half of a cigarette. Now, you can sell to “kids” but as a responsible business owner I choose not too. Hopefully these laws will go in effect so the bad business people will stop giving everyone a bad name.
The truth is, I help people. My grandmother died of cancer and my whole family smokes and this little gem has got them to quit and I have 5 proven people that breathing alone got better in 2 months time.
If this would have been around 20 years ago when my grandmother was alive in a time when it was “cool” to smoke, maybe it would have saved her life. I just wish before people publish articles, they would talk to someone in that field, so not all was labeled “bad”.
To claim that this is one other thing to target kids, is absurd; it is a tool to get rid of the real enemy, cigarettes. It is not meant to stay on for years and years.
