To the Editor:
Exactly how many people believe Congressman Owens’ bill to make Congress more open is anything that anyone in elected office truly wants?
As November nears, we will all be seeing more of these "open government" demands by those who are politicians, and those aching to be. Come January, not a single elected official (from either side) will be able to comment on anything previously promised without the usual "someone from my office will look into that." And while they all tend to overstaff their offices with cronies and nepotism, they never seem to be able to find anyone to take that "someone in my office" slot!
Please, Mr. Owens, don't assume everyone is as stupid as politicians are.
