To the Editor:

We, the committee of the Colton United Methodist Church’s can drive, wish to announce the goal of raising $1,000 has been achieved. The drive began July 5 and ended Sept. 30. Approximately 15,000 cans were collected and many cash donations were also received.

We wish to take this opportunity to thank our congregation and the entire Colton community for their support and generosity. Special thanks goes to Cindy Hennessy, Kevin LaMora, and Trevor Wood for help with placement of our collection boxes during the annual “Back to Colton Days” celebration. Also, the Pierrepont Fire Department, White’s General Store, Janice from the UPS Store, and the crew at CJ’s.

The money will be sent to the district, earmarked for the purchase of 100 specially-treated mosquito nets for the Imagine No Malaria Campaign which is part of the United Methodist Church’s Africa 360 project.

Again, thank you all and God bless.

Peter and Sheri Hoyt, Judy Aldous, Len Page, Zoey Durrant and Pearl Erdner
