Colton Country Day a successful event

To the Editor:

Higley Association President, Linden Snyder wants to thank its members and the many area residents who attended and supported the annual Ice Cream Social and Fireworks event on Saturday night, bringing to a conclusion, celebration of the annual “Colton Day.” The weather was perfect, attendance was terrific and the fireworks were spectacular!

Except for a minimal charge for food/drinks, the event is free and open to all! The event has been a tradition for many years, offering an opportunity for the young and young at heart to gather on beautiful summers eve to enjoy music, some sweets, conversation and, of course, who doesn’t enjoy a fireworks display. It is only through the generous donations of its members and the public that the event is funded.

A special “thank you” to Nick Rycroft who provided some great musical entertainment this year, our Colton Fire Department and Rescue Squad for being on hand to ensure everyone’s safety and the NYS Police for directing traffic after the event. And, last, but far from least, all of our dedicated volunteers

Linden Snyder, Higley Association President
