Letter to Editor:
Clarkson is reviving an old tradition with a new twist. In years past, the Clarkson Ice Carnival used to be one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year for area residents.
Our new event, Cold Out Gold Out (COGO), will reenergize this beloved pastime and unite the community. Clarkson’s Alumni Relations team has been working collaboratively with students, alumni, and faculty to plan this occasion to celebrate longstanding traditions and create new memories.
Activities include a pep rally, snow sculpting, igloo building, dog sled rides, alumni hockey games, and an outdoor skating rink, all of which are sure to bring the fun back to February! Folks will sip hot chocolate or brave the ice bar in a heated tent on Cheel lawn.
In addition to exciting outdoor events, the Leadership Expo—featuring alumni led workshops—will expose students to the wisdom of the larger Clarkson family.
Saturday night will conclude COGO with an Ice Bash—join us for delicious food, drink, and fireworks!
Everyone is invited! Registration is preferred; however you may pay at the door. Furthermore, we would like to attract additional sponsorships. If you or your company/business/organization is interested in being a COGO underwriter, please contact us at 268-6467.
For detailed information about Cold Out Gold Out events, or to register, visit cuonline.clarkson.edu/community_cogo.
Whether as a participant, supporter, or volunteer, we hope to see you at Clarkson on Friday & Saturday, Feb. 26 & 27.
Teresa Planty
Director of Alumni Relations Clarkson University
