To the Editor:
The Norwood-Norfolk Raymondville Neighborhood Outreach Program wishes to thank community members, organizations, and individuals for their time, talents, and/or support throughout the 2011 calendar year. It is with great pleasure that we report 403 individuals were helped through the Christmas Give-Away Program.
Through your generosity, our program was able to supply 142 families and 184 children with food, clothes, and toys. In addition, monetary donations were also used to purchase school supplies for N.N.C.S. students; warm coats, boots, hats, and mittens, as requested by the school nurse, and emergency assistant when needed.
Every year we ask for the support of local community members, like yourself, and each year we are impressed and overjoyed with the response we receive. It is your kindness, generosity and continued hard work that enable us to reach out and help so many this time of year.
Those who donated throughout 2011 include many businesses and organizations and the following individuals: John Martin; Mr. & Mrs. Randy Cutler; Joseph Remington; Mrs. Herb Bullock; Ernest Farmer; Sharon Hicks; Mrs. and Mrs. Dale Lavigne; Mr. and Mrs. Pat Jay; Mr. and Mrs. William Jackson; Kathy Tebo; Bill Grant; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McDonald; Randy Agen, distributing; Alyssa Todd’s Zumba Class; Judy Plumb; Ronny Diederich; and Kathy Robinson.
We would also like to thank the many volunteers who gave of their time to help with toys, food, and clothing. Also the helping hands when we needed them to carry large heavy boxes. Thank you also to those who donated mittens, hats, afghans, and toys. A big thank you to Sylvia Despaw of the Norwood Golden Agers for the delicious lunch served to the volunteers. If we forgot anyone, we apologize. We appreciate all the help. We couldn’t do it without everyone’s help.
