Charity ride in Norfolk nets $3,200 for Wounded Warrior Fund

To the editor:

On July 8, the American Legion Riders of Post #925 (Norfolk) hosted a fundraiser for the 10th Mountain Division/Fort Drum Wounded Warrior Fund.

We held our traditional ham and salt potatoes dinner and raffled off many prizes that had been donated by the local communities. We were able to raise close to $3,200.

Raising this much money for such a good cause would not have been possible without the wonderful support and generosity of our local communities and the dedicated work of our members. The ride would not have been possible without the exceptionally generous support and hospitality of the Parishville AMVETs Post #265, the Brushton-Moira American Legion Post #939, the Hogansburg American Legion Post #1479, and our very own American Legion Post #925 of Norfolk.

We are very grateful to the New York State Police, the Norfolk Fire Department, and the Parishville Fire Department for their assistance during the ride. We would also like to thank all of the members of the American Legion Riders for their donations of food and time in helping make this a success.

We would like to acknowledge the selfless contributions that were made by the following individuals, organizations, and local businesses: American Legion Post #68 (Norwood), American Legion Post #514 (Winthrop), American Legion Post #514 Ladies' Auxiliary (Winthrop), Sons of the American Legion Post #514 (Winthrop), American Legion Post #925 (Norfolk), American Legion Post #925 Ladies' Auxiliary (Norfolk), American Legion Post #1479 (Hogansburg), American Legion Post #1479 Ladies' Auxiliary (Hogansburg), American Legion Post #1513 (Madrid), AMVETS Post #1997 (Heuvelton), Alkie’s Liquor Store, Barb and Dick Barish, Baxter's One Stop Automotive (Massena), Bessette's Liquors (Canton), Best Western University Inn (Canton), Brewer Bookstore (SLU), Harry Caringi, Al and Linda Carpenter, The Cascade Inn, The Club (Canton), The Club (Massena), Coakley Carpet One, Coleman and Jerry’s Hair Styling, Copper Still Restaurant, Sandy Denis, Marilyn Derouchie, Donna's Hair Styles (Canton), Fabulous Finds Boutique and Consignment (Massena), Fast Print (Canton), Agnes Guile, JC's River Run Bar and Grill (Waddington), Josie’s Little Pizzeria / Sylvia’s Lounge Eatery, Marc and Elizabeth LoGalbo, Moody River Motorcycles, Tim Moon, Kevin Moriarty, Frances “Mom” Morrison, Thomas and Maria Morrison, Nana's Kitchen (Massena), North Country Auto Parts, North Country Now, Loren Nowak, Jim and Sharon Palmer, Parkway Express (Raymondville), Lois Pernice, Terry and Donna Peterson, Pizza Hut (Massena), Progressive Imports (Massena), Bob Queor, Raquette River Golf and Country Club, Rex Hardware (Canton), Riverpark Family Practice, Riverside Liquors, Steve Sedlock, Sergi’s Italian Restaurant (Canton), Royal and Gail Sheldon, Shoulette’s Redemption Depot, Silver Leaf Diner (Dekalb), Lynn Smith, Snell's CITGO (Canton), Spanky's Restaurant (Massena), Star Route Sales, Kevin and Helen Sterling, Cindy Sullivan, SUNY Canton Bookstore, True Value (Waddington), Valley Paper (Massena), Via Main Restaurant, VFW Post #1231 (Canton), Waddington Savings and Loan, Wal-Mart (Potsdam), White's Flowers (Canton), Porky Wilmart, World Class Gym (Massena), and Ye Olde Liquors.
