To the Editor:

On behalf of the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center HEART Committee and Foundation, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Cash for the Holidays raffle an unparalleled success.

Because of the generosity of our donors and everyone who purchased a ticket, this year’s event raised over $9,000, which will be translated into improved patient care through new and upgraded equipment and supplies.

This year’s raffle offered prizes from 32 local and regional donors; these valuable donations—which included gift certificates, goods, and services—allowed our 22 ticket sellers to sell all 2,000 tickets.

We would like to thank the Law Office of Marcia LeMay, Wal-Mart, CDW, Price Chopper, Stewart’s Shops, John Morrow, Gran-View, Sholette’s Liquor Store, Akwasasne Mohawk Casino, Bella Brook Winery, Ella’s, Buster’s Sports Bar, St. Lawrence University Brewer Bookstore, and the CHMC Auxiliary Gift Shop for donating this year’s grand prizes.

We also greatly appreciate the donors of the weekly prizes that help make this raffle so successful year after year: St. Lawrence Surgery, The Place, Hosmer’s Marina, Salon 1020, Phillips Diner, Monro Muffler Brake & Service, Sherman Studio, Busy Corner Café, The Freight House, Glow Spa, Phoenix on the Bay, Sandwich Warehouse, Club 1812, The Dirty Gringo, Jreck Subs, Bradley’s Service, Robideau’s Mahogany Ridge, and Gary & Aileen’s.

And of course, we are grateful to all of our ticket sellers, who help spread the word about the event: Kelly Amo, Colleen Anderson, Emma Beauchamp, Vicki Bruyere, Community Bank, Jane Compeau, Caitlin Osypiewski, Karen Cole, Martha Halpin, Steve Hawes, Shannon VanHouse, Rondalyn Jacobs, Heather Kennedy, Ramona Kennedy, Coleen Lamere, Kelly LaRock, Emily Mallette, Betsy McNamara, Denise Palmer, Melody Rishe, Vicky Sharpe, and Krista Woods.

A special thanks to Dawn Merz for announcing the winners of the raffle prizes, and to Dave Merz and Yes-FM 96.7 for broadcasting live from the Cornerstone Cafe.
