To the Editor:
On behalf of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, I want to thank everyone for participating in the Peter Rabbit in the Park event that was held on March 23 at the Canton Pavilion.
I want to thank our Event Sponsors: County Seat Realty, Ostranders Bed & Breakfast, Price Chopper, Save A Lot, Dr. Lisa Towle & Dr. Jamie Towle, Kiwanis Club, Kinney Drugs, McDonald’s and Edward C. Seymour Post 1231. With costs of candy and prizes soaring, these sponsors are invaluable.
Thanks to our volunteers that baked the cakes for the cake walk, set up and cleanup and worked the event. These include Terri Simzer, Darlene & Don Leonard, Kathy Flanagan, Cindy Lawrence, Paul Mitchell, Barb & Bailee Bessette, Phyllis Howard, Randy Sieminski, Linda Burke, Jessica Zuhlsdorf, Beth & Talyne Pier, Carol Spadaccini, Janet Favro, Larry Olmstead and John Hill. Thanks to the Canton VFW for letting us bake our cakes for the very popular Cake Walk and to the Town & Village of Canton for the use of the Pavilion.
Our sincere thanks to St. Lawrence University for the great students they have that volunteer for this event, from filling the eggs with candy to the many games for the kids. Thanks to Kappa Delta Sigma, Alpha Tau Omega, Beta Theta Pi,Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, and the Saint Lawrence University Panhellenic Council.
To “ Peter Rabbit” for being so great to the kids. Thanks to Soeurette Morley for organizing these groups, we must have had over 75 students to help with the event. We could not do this event without the help of these young people. Thank you so much.
To all the parents, grandparents and children that came out for the event, thank you for making it a great egg hunt yet! We hope everyone had a great time, we’ll see you next year.
Sally Hill, Executive Director, Canton Chamber of Commerce
