To the Editor:
In the early evening of Jan. 26, I went outside on my back porch, slipped, fell and broke my hip.
Wearing my Lifeline, I pushed the button and within 10 minutes my Lifeline angels arrived: Doc Gauthier, Ray Wilson and Judy Papaw along with two NY state policemen. One of them covered me with his coat.
They immediately called the Canton Rescue Squad, who arrived quickly and took me to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Needless to say, without the rapid help of all of these people, there could have been a tragedy.
How fortunate I am to have such dedicated friends and neighbors in Canton! To each and every one, I give my heartfelt thanks.
My beloved niece, Christine Gray, held everything together until I was finally admitted to the hospital. She and Judy Papaw were there until nearly midnight.
Let me again join with my family in expressing my thanks to all the caring people in Canton and Potsdam who came to my assistance. You truly saved my life.
