To the Editor:
I would like to tell all the people who enjoy my photos that I appreciate your many, many accolades. I had a very nice lady come up to me yesterday and tell me just how much she enjoyed my photos and to keep them coming. She said I look for your photos every day. I was very touched by her gratitude.
I love going out and photographing Mother Nature’s gifts. I got into photography after I retired and I guess I had it in my blood all the while. You see, my Mother, Virginia Aldrich, was a photographer as well. She had a studio and did many weddings.
However, her biggest joy came from her time with the editor of the St. Lawrence Plaindealer, Aileen Vincent Barwood. They worked on feature stories for the newspaper and that would take them all over St. Lawrence County. Those two had many wonderful adventures together. I visit Aileen still and we share precious memories of their time together.
And for those people who knew my Mom, I make a really good donut just like “Ginny.” I guess it is true “that you are your Mother.”
Happy Mother’s Day everyone and yes, I’ll keep ’em coming.
