To the Editor:
On behalf of the Village of Canton, we extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in coordinating and participating in the Dairy Princess Festival this past weekend.
It is so amazing when communities come together as one to celebrate, support and promote our farming industry and each other. The level of enthusiasm, education and entertainment was phenomenal. Kudos to our Canton Chamber of Commerce Director Sally Hill for the countless hours in making this another successful year.
The street fair was a new addition this year with Rainbow Crabtree's leadership, the Canton's Merchants Association as well as our Village Economic Developer Leigh Rodriguez in coordinating the fair with the chamber. The fair increased the connection of the public to our lovely Main Street.
We also thank our sheriff, police, firefighters and first responders for supporting and being part of the festival. They truly serve and protect us on a daily basis and we fully support them.
Upcoming events include the community sale on Aug. 8. Also, coming this fall is the Local Living Festival, the Remington Arts Festival, the Phantoms in the Park and the St. Lawrence International Film Festival.
