To the Editor:
This is a call out to all the Veterans of the North Country!
It is time to discuss the upcoming Veterans Appreciation Day that will arrive on August 9, 2014. This is our 3rd annual Veterans Appreciation Day project and this year we are making it a true appreciation day event.
We will be starting off the day with a formal opening which will include a special recognition of all registered Vietnam Veterans (including all those who served during that era) at noon sharp.
There will be three bands that will play. Lime Hollow Boys are doing a reunion just for the Veterans Appreciation Day, then The Max Ryder Band and Ten Cent Green will round out the entertainment. You can’t have bands without liquid libations and munchies, which will include burgers and dogs along with a number of other treats.
There will be some displays (including U.S. Army heavy equipment) and the County Clerk will be there to issue Veteran Thank You recognition cards. There are a number of good door prizes to be handed out as well. But you have to attend to find out what they are, so come on down! We’re sure you’ll have a good time.
Preregistration can be done online at our website, www.northcountryveterans.com. Registration for those who do no pre-register will commence at 11:30 a.m.
We will be at Cheel Arena on Clarkson University’s campus. The University has graciously agreed to host the event again.

We look forward to seeing you there!
