Combining employee wellness programs and safety trainings for some employers makes sense. Keeping employees safe during their workday provides savings for the employer as well as creates a sense of well being for employees. A win-win!
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has created the Total Worker Health Program. This program integrates occupational safety and health protection with health promotion to prevent worker injury and illness and to advance health and well-being.
Local occupational health networks can also provide valuable resources to support worker health and safety by providing medical services, occupational illness and disease prevention as well as worker empowerment.
