To the Editor:

I was stunned reading on NorthCountryNow.com story that Congresswoman Stefanik approves of the US Government’s armed theft activity known euphemistically as the asset forfeiture program and its crooked cousin, the “Equitable” Sharing Program where government thieves share the spoils of this particular robbery.

This piece of unconstitutional, anti-American “thuggery” would make Stalin, Hitler, the Castros and other enemies of humanity proud. It represents a low point in this government’s existence. It is designed to try to deny the best defense possible for anyone accused of a crime in America.

Under this anti-American hogwash, a person’s assets can be grabbed even before a criminal charge is made. Mere suspicion is enough to cost an individual his/her life’s savings and labors. A person’s assets can be grabbed even if a criminal charge is never made. In that case, you can get your money back after several years and having lawyers pocket most of it.

This action is one of the big reasons the US government is becoming more and more identified as a criminal enterprise.

Only the enemies of liberty support asset forfeiture and “equitable” sharing of the spoils!

I never in a thousand years would believe that a Republican could support anti-Liberty legislation. It leaves me wondering if I should vote any more.
