To the Editor:
My name is Alyssa Laneuville and I attend Seaway Career and Technical Education Center Health Careers Program.
As a senior, my day starts and finishes at Massena Central, but the best time of the day is when I am at Seaway Tech learning about what I am actually interested in. Health Careers is a two-year program where we explore many different health occupations. We learn about the human body, how to take care of people properly, task aide skills, CPR, and how to become a Certified Nurses Assistant. Our clinical portion of the program is going to a nursing home to practice what we learn.
We are also eligible to apply for dual enrollment with North Country Community College. What this means is that for those interested, we can enroll at NCCC as high school students and earn college credits.
Individuals who would like more information may contact their local guidance counselor or go to www.sllboces.org.
