To the Editor:
St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Community Based Work Program located in Norwood supports students in Brasher Falls, Canton, Potsdam, Colton-Pierrepont, Parishville, and Norwood-Norfolk Central School Districts.
The program trains students in the area of work readiness and focuses on the areas of development in work habits, social skills, self-advocacy and career exploration.
Certified Job Coaches directly support students at the job sites in the community, as well as with pre-employment skills.
The area businesses are a critical component of the success of the program as they offer a learning environment for our students throughout the school year.
We would like to thank all of the area businesses who supported St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Community Based Work Program for the 2010-2011 school year.
We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize Potsdam Central School Transportation Department, Dave McMartin, for all of his hard work and dedication to assisting our students from several school districts with transportation to work sites in the downtown Potsdam area.
We look forward to another successful year with you for 2011-2012 school year.
