Bertram the best choice for Hammond Town Supervisor

To the Editor:

As far as I am concerned, the decision of who to vote for in the upcoming election for Hammond Town Supervisor is obvious. The choice is decidedly Ron Bertram. He has served this town well over the past two years, despite continued negative innuendo and vitriolic behavior from his opponent, Michelle McQueer.

Mr. Bertram has restructured the office of supervisor in order to maximize efficiency of the accounting and clerical services, all financed from his own personal salary.

He has presided over each town meeting knowledgeably having garnered experience by attending a variety of educational sessions.

He convened a wind committee that worked for a year coming up with reasonable recommendations that benefit and protect all members of the community.

He has set in motion plans for a community town plan that Hammond desperately needs in order to envision a revitalized future.

His opponent has not offered any vision for our town, except to turn it into an industrialized wind facility, of which she will personally benefit having signed a lease with wind tower proponent Iberdrola.

Having observed each of these candidates in board and committee meetings, it is clear that Bertram presents his perspective after thoroughly reviewing and analyzing an issue objectively, while McQueer speaks impulsively and angrily showing a lack of understanding of the full implications of an Iberdola intrusion and is not the formula for community improvement.

There is no doubt, that no matter what your political party affiliation may be, voting for Rob Bertram is a vote for the Hammond community and the best choice you can make this November 8th.
