To the Editor:
Setting the record straight, Mr. Timmerman! First of all, it didn't take long to realize that Professor Turbett was your friend until you disagreed with him.
In 2009, there was a cry from many of the District 10 Democrats that they had had enough of Pat Turbett's arrogance, sarcasm and disruption on the Board of Legislators.
As Pat intended to run again we anticipated another four years of the same. The only hope of replacing him on our line was to have a primary challenger and let the people decide. Pat Turbett had to get signatures to get on that ballot.
He, the well-educated professor, knew the election law. He had to get signatures from people who had not already signed for Jim Bunstone.
Why people signed his after signing Jim's is anybody's guess but it was his job and his failure to make it clear to those signing what the law required.
It was his own arrogance that did him in and that is why Jim Bunstone became and still is our candidate! Be wary Mr. Timmerman of making statements without doing your homework.
