Aubertine fights for jobs in county

To the Editor:

Simply put, we need to re-elect hardworking Darrel Aubertine our state senator because he has the solid successful record of fighting day and night for jobs in St. Lawrence County and all across the North Country.

Darrel, the only dawn-to-dusk farmer in the State Senate who had to switch now from dairying to haying, fought not only to save 900 Alcoa jobs and the many OCF jobs for the lives of many families and for our economy, but also put pressure on Albany and downstaters to protect our power for our people here. We know he fought almost single-handedly for the Power for Jobs push.

Darrel is not new to making laws and to legislative government and to working across the aisle for his constituents. In fact, he started on his home town council 16 years ago and was in the minority for two terms in the Jefferson County Legislature when he was chosen their first Democratic chair in county history.

With his long legislative experience, his history-making victories and successes as our assembly member and now state senator, his fight for reducing costs for farmers and consumers, his successes for green energy savings and jobs, and his advocacy for SUNY Canton’s growth and quality education, are all reason enough to keep Darrel Aubertine working for us in Albany.

As a two-town small business owner and mother, I am voting for Darrel November 2. Please make your vote count also.

Sylvia Kingston

Deputy Mayor of Canton
