To the Editor:
I’ve been proud to work with our State Senator, Patty Ritchie, over the past two years to fight for Jefferson County and the North Country, and stand up for our way of life.
In the Senate, Patty Ritchie has been a strong champion of our farmers, stopping budget cuts that in previous years decimated important farm support programs. As chair of the Senate’s Agriculture
Committee, she’s worked closely with the Governor and the Department of Agriculture and Markets to help farmers grow, but cutting red tape and helping to promote new markets for local farm products.
She’s been a fierce defender of Fort Drum, securing millions of dollars in aid to help ease Jefferson County’s housing crunch, and even hosted General Milley and the troops for the first-ever “Fort Drum Day” she sponsored at the Capitol, to help showcase the post and educate downstaters about the critical role it plays in our region’s economy.
She’s taken up the cause of our sport fishing and tourism industries, standing up for charter operators on Lake Ontario and pleasure boaters throughout the Thousand Islands.
And because she puts taxpayers first, Patty’s been a leader on cutting spending and slashing red tape that drives up costs to local governments, like Jefferson County and towns and villages across this region.
One of the most accessible and approachable public officials I have ever met, Patty Ritchie can be seen everyday helping to solve problems large and small for the citizens and communities she represents. And she’s getting results.
Jefferson County and Northern New York couldn’t have a stronger champion than Patty Ritchie looking out for us in the State Senate.
On Tuesday, Nov. 6, I will proudly cast my vote for a State Senator who stands up for the hardworking taxpayers of Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties. I hope you will join me in voting for Patty Ritchie for State Senate.
