To the Editor:
The Friends Group and staff of the Nature Center are thankful for all the help we received from ALCOA employees and others for our Annual Fall Clean-Up Day.
We were very excited that so many volunteers showed up to help that day! The trails are ready for winter activities and the garden should look wonderful in the spring.
The Kiosk looks fantastic with the new shingles. Thanks to all the support, we will be eligible for an Action Grant offered by ALCOA. Since we have had to completely start over, this $3,000 grant is extremely important to us.
The Friends have many exciting things coming in our future including off site programming at the Massena Library, area schools, Moonlight Ski and Snowshoe hikes and participation in Massena’s Winter Carnival.
Support is greatly needed in many areas, including renewing or becoming a member of the Friends of the Nature Center, or volunteering to help at special events or possibly serving on the Friend’s board or a committee.
Thanks again for the continued support of the Nature Center and its activities.
