Accusations of flag not being lit are false, says Canton man

To the Editor:

In response to the Sound Off “Disrespect to Flag” which appeared in the June 27-July 3 issue of North Country This Week, at least the cemetery association, schools and individuals you are scolding are making an attempt.

Instead of writing a letter to criticize, why don't you use your time to be constructive and tell us about your patriotic contributions? Do you fly our flag?

I can’t imagine a reasonable person would think every time the power went out that someone would go out and lower the flag.

As for my flag and fireman statue on the silo on Waterman Hill, you should check your facts. I do have a solar light on my flag and unless it has gone out in the last night or so, the flag is lit.

So please response to my comments and correct your accusations of no light on the flag. I will gladly accept your apology, but please do it in letter form with your signature as I have.
