Abortion not the answer to abuse problem

To the Editor:

It is truly sad that Pat Biggs actually compares the killing of an unborn baby to that of a suffering goose (“Abortion Often Result of Cruelty”, April 20-26) – it shows the ignorance on what abortion really is. The baby is not suffering, merely growing inside what’s supposed to be a sanctuary for life, her mother’s womb. To kill the innocent child because the future may be bad is just plain selfish.

Do men abuse women, yes, but killing the innocent baby will not change how that man treats a woman. What the child needs is not to be butchered but to be loved, nurtured, and protected by his mother – exactly what the woman desires from the man. Abortion is the ultimate abuse.

Is there a lot of hate and evil in our world, yes – but the love of a mother for her baby is sacred and must be protected or we are just like the animals who kill their own. If you are pregnant, afraid, and alone, please know that there are loving, caring people who will help you to have your baby and be the loving mother the child wants to be held by:
