To the Editor:

I, on the behalf of the Massena Permanent Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2220, wanted to thank you all for participating in this years 9/11 Walk/Run to Remember 5K.

It is a great feeling to see people within the Greater Massena area take pride and ownership in their community. This event is not able to happen without your generous donation, each and every year.

With your donation, we are better able to help give back to our community and help better equip needy families with the # 1 life saving equipment that every house needs, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. It is a proven fact that these alarms are the best life safety protection for families.

It was absolutely awesome to see everyone having such a great time at our run. There is a lot of time that is put into this each year and it is great to see everyone having a great time while they are giving back to their community. We always enjoy putting on this event for the Massena area every year.

The Run to Remember 5k is growing annually with more interest and runners. This year alone, we had at least 30 more participants than last years race, which is inspiring to see. The age range for the race was absolutely stunning to see. Our youngest runner was 9 years old and the eldest runner came in at the young age of 82.

Lastly, again, I would like to thank everyone that helped us behind the scenes that made the 9/11 Run to Remember possible. Without your Sponsorship or your help, this event would not be possible to carry out.
