POTSDAM -- Jan Close of Winthrop recently took first place at the Northeastern Woodworkers’ Association spring meeting for a wooden bowl he created.
The bowl, which was part of a local tree just three weeks ago, is on display at Maple Run Emporium, Market Street.
David Ellsworth, considered the foremost wood turner in the world, said “it’s the perfection of the art. The form and finish are exquisite. It reveals craftsmanship and the beauty of its material of the highest order.”
