Austin Scott of Waddington was a key member of the distance medley relay of the track and field team at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, according to a press release from the college.

Scott was selected as the WPI “Male Student-Athlete of the Week” for the week of March 8.

The men's team ran to an ECAC division III championship in a school-record time at The Armory in New York City recently.

Andrew Zayac, Joey Collins, Austin Scott and Lucas Roy teamed-up to clock a 10:05.12 to reset the school record and win the event with splits of 3:03.9, 49.6, 1:54.9 and 4:15.8 respectively.

The quartet's efforts helped the Engineers finish in a tie for sixth overall out of 56 scoring teams.
