CANTON – Two St. Lawrence University students from Canton are participating in an off-campus study abroad program for the fall 2018 semester.
Chaudhry K. Niaz of Canton, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in computer science, is participating in the university's fall program in London.
Tianna M. Whitmarsh, a member of the Class of 2021 and a graduate of Canton’s Hugh C. Williams High School, is in Spain this semester.
Nearly three-quarters of St. Lawrence University undergraduates study abroad, with nearly two-thirds of students studying abroad for a semester or longer. The 2017 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange ranked SLU No. 15 in the "Leading Institutions by Institutional Type-Baccalaureate" category; the Princeton Review also ranked SLU 15th, for Most Popular Study Abroad Programs in its Best 381 Colleges: 2017 Edition; and Best Choice Schools named SLU one of the top-20 colleges in the nation for study abroad opportunities.
