POTSDAM – SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center Executive Director Lori Moulton, a college alumna, was selected by the SUNY Early Care and Education Leaders as this year's recipient of the Marcia Brady Excellence in Early Childhood Administrator Award.
The award was created to celebrate administrators, childcare staff and community partners who have made significant achievements in the improvement and advancement of early care and education, within the SUNY childcare community.
Moulton was recognized at the 2018 SUNY Early Care and Education Conference in Saratoga Springs in June.
Moulton was selected to lead the center in 1998, and has served as executive director for 20 years. She is a member of the local St. Lawrence Child Care Council Board of Directors, and the SUNY Canton Early Childhood Program Advisory Board.
This year, Moulton has been actively involved in the design and plans for the college's new $6 million Child Care Center facility.
The SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center relocates to its new building at 185 Outer Main St. in late August, across from The Crane School of Music. The new 13,000-square-foot building will offer easy access drop off and pick up without driving through campus. It will have seven classrooms specially designed for each age group served by the center, dedicated children's bathrooms and special rooms such as sleeping spaces for infants, a changing area for toddlers, a project space for preschool-age children and a laundry area.
