POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam gave alumni Jayce Yianoukos its Leadership Through Service Award at its graduation ceremonies this weekend.
The college says the award honors those that have demonstrated a commitment of service to the Potsdam community.
Yianoukos is a retired teacher and curriculum specialist for St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES. She was one of the first to volunteer as a mentor the school's Women and Leadership Program and is mentoring a student preparing to become an elementary school teacher.
She also coordinates a book drive for SUNY Potsdam's Rebecca V. Sheard Literacy Center.
Yianoukos served on the Potsdam Alumni Association Board of Trustees from 1986 to 1998 and is co-president of the Potsdam Hospital Guild.
